Artificial Intelligence and Its Prospective Employment in Defence Forces
In the early twenty-first century, the train of progress is again pulling out of the station – and this will probably be the last train ever to leave the station called Homo Sapiens. Those who miss this train will never get a second chance. In order to get a seat on it you need to understand twenty-first-century technology, and in particular the power of bio-technology and computer algorithms. AI has been evolving continuously and is an emerging concept whose practical implications in every walk of life have been a glaring reality and is expected to continue to have a diverse impact on most fields in both private and public sectors. Defence and security will be on the leading AI experimental and user fields.

Combating terrorism through artificial intelligence
Terrorists from across the borders entering India are often exploiting weaknesses in border infrastructure and use technology and cyberspace to create technology to propagate their thinking.crimes. And are continuously supported from beyond the Indian borders, primarily misusing modern technology for funding or Command and Control purposes. Prevention of violent extremism in India is an important and necessary requirement for the country. Such efforts need multi-dimensional coordination between Armed Forces and various National law enforcement agencies. Today's asymmetric warfare requires newer tools and techniques to keep pace with the changing times.
Can "restrained" Artificial intelligence act as Indian army's mercenary?
"Any nation that leads in Artificial intelligence, will be the ruler of the world"--Vladimir Putin Since time immemorial mercenaries were used to wage wars on foreign lands by Kings. Mercenaries were so effective that a King from Hungary, in the 15th century, had a standing mercenary army. It is a pragmatic strategy to deploy a trained manpower in prolonged high-casualty war zone, that is highly motivated, effective, and keeps the cost of the war and mission low. Behemoth countries like America and Russia have now decided to adopt autonomous weapon system (AWS) that work on artificial intelligence (AI), to spearhead their aggressive policy abroad. AI is the mercenary of 21st century!!! India has so far been reticent in relying on artificial intelligence due to the trepidation of losing control over the game play of events.
